If he had not composed music for the vielle, or the harpsichord accompanied by the hurdy-gurdy, perhaps more would have been known about Dupuits. His teaching was considered exceptional from what has been discovered. Many of his pieces incorporated the harpsichord and the vielle but his two grand motets remain in tact and indicate a musician who had a keen understanding of musical development (even with the vielle). He pushed the proverbial envelope on the vielle and his ten movement "Quam dilecta" was composed involving a variety of methods.
