Led_Zep_Fan's Artist Review for Jimmy Page
""
Was there ever any doubt?
Jimmy Page is easily one of my most favourite guitar players of all time, if not favourite all-around musician. He started Led Zeppelin, one of the most influential and monstrous bands in history, and was a major driving force behind the band. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Before Zeppelin, he was a session man. Do you know the amazing guitar work that begins the Kinks' "You Really Got Me"? The chances those musical notes came from Jimmy's hand are very good; it is estimated he was in about 60% of all rock done during those times. Imagine! He joined the Yardbirds; apart from making even more beautiful music, he looked so cute in his little hat and haircut! Then came Zeppelin; after that, lots more work that made Jimmy's mark on the world.
Jimmy is amazing, because of his great guitar work (dig the double-necked guitar and violin bow used in Zeppelin), his persistance and determination, and the fact that he was amazingly hot when younger. Recently, he celebrated his 60th birthday. Happy birthday Jimmy, and thank you for the music, you guitar god!
