Joy Voeth is a world-class vocalist with a soulful and sophisticated sound. The Barbadian-born songstress spent much of her early life in Germany, where she discovered the experimental sounds of trip hop and electronica. She later moved to the United States and immersed herself in the world of jazz greats such as Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, and Cassandra Wilson. With the remnants of roots reggae from her island home still flowing in her veins, Joy now emerges with her own alchemy of sound. Joy's original music journeys into the realm of Alternative/Indie, Ambient Pop, and Electronic Dance. Smooth vocal harmonies over cool grooves and percussive beats. In Los Angeles, Joy crooned jazz standards with the Verdugo Swing Society, a long-standing 17-piece big band. In New England, Joy created innovative and progressive choreopoems with Chrysalis Theatre - a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary performance ensemble. In Munich, Joy moved the masses in nightclubs and music festivals, infusing German nightlife with her vocal expression and electrifying movement.
