Karmablind
This group formed when vocalist Mark Sly, drummer Mike Hickey and bass player Wayne Curtis Charleston met while at university and also performing around the club circuit.Sly attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston while at the same time holding down a full-time job in Manhattan. In 2000, after rehearsing and honing their pop rock sound, Karmablind released its debut effort, a five-song EP on LT Productions. Although it wasn't a smashing success, it did attract airplay at local radio stations as well as college radio. Numerous showcases and music conferences ensued for major labels, but nothing was finalized. On September 11, 2001, Sly was working on the 48th floor of one of the World Trade Center buildings when terrorists attacked. Escaping the horror, Sly rededicated himself to his first love: music. In February 2002 Karmablind released its self-titled full-length album. The band also performed at the 2002 NEMO Music and Showcase Conference in Boston. ~ Jason MacNeil, All Music Guide
