Hopes and Fears is an astonishing debut.
Hopes and Fears is an astonishing debut. Though their lineup is simple, these songs are full and lush, with plenty of interesting layers that sometimes border on psychedelia. The songwriting is impressive, with great melodies and thoughtful lyrics. Thematically, this album is a work of art. The lyrics reflect all the hopes and fears of life and love, laying it all out on the table... and that's really what Keane does here as they hold nothing back. The result is incredible.
