Born in Ethiopia (but raised in both Cincinnati and Virginia Beach), alt-funk artist Kenna became captivated by the sounds of U2 and Stevie Wonder early on -- later using their sound as a springboard for his own musical ideas. Signed to Columbia, Kenna created a buzz with the release of his debut single, "Hell Bent," which shortly thereafter led to his full-length debut, New Sacred Cow. North American dates with Depeche Mode frontman followed in late summer 2003.
