WALMART'S DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT in their new TV commercial featuring King Harvest's original hit!
TAKE IT EASY from THE LOST TAPES gets GREAT REVIEWS !
The lead vocals have a very cool and soulful sound! The groove is in the pocket. Nice and funky! The congas are a very nice touch. The guitar is very tastey. I love the keys. This song has a warm, swampy and organic sound that I dig. Please don't change a thing. Five stars. Right on!! Great Skill, Tons Of J.J. Cale Influence
The subdued guitar tone of the intro, heck EVERYTHING about the intro ( restrained shuffle of the drums, electric piano, deliberate driving bass ) made me think I was listening to vintage J.J. Cale.
You have asked for input on the following...
1 - Lead Vocals - Now I have to amend the comments above to say it sounded just like J.J. Cale until the vocals kicked in. He has a very modern tone with lots of passion and skillful execution. Skilled singer well recorded.
2 - Lead Guitar - I hate to sound like a broken record but there is no escaping the Cale comparison in tone, **** execution, phrasing, everything. The Guy is a legend so that isn't an insult.
3 - Rhythm - slinky, laid back, texas ****beat and groove. Very well matched to the ****and the vocal melody.
The musicianship is fantastic.
The mix is dead on even and well balanced.
The melody is strong and suits the track.
I could see this track being used in a film to create a smokey mood. Cool blues and latin groove
very cool r'n'b (real r'n'b that is) groove. lead guitar is filling in perfectly. Drums, bass and keys tight as a tight thing, backing vocals excellent. Rhythm perfectly played and matched to the **** genre and song. Lead voclas hitting those lovely blues notes excellently. Love it. pro stuff
Nice subtle use of call and response between guitar and vocals. This is very groovy music!
Vocals are powerful but dynamic and interesting. Vocal harmonies are nice too.
This is a quality recording which has been nicely produced. definitely not digital - what a warm and organic sound.
