godfree7's Album Review for Peedo and the Luna Empire Mix Tape
""
Hot Mixtape!!
Once again it's grimey season...
I picked up the album "KRS-ONE Presents Peedo & The Luna Empire" and I must say that the album will definitely get airplay in my CD player for the rest of my life. The content of Peedo & the Luna Empire's album reminds of a scripture in the Bible called Ecclesiastes 3:8 which tells us that there is a time to love and a time to hate. This belief is illustrated in their album which encourages peace in some songs, but also encourages violence in other songs.
Peedo & The Luna Empire is the perfect example of the intelligent gangsta who comes with knowledge & peace, but will crack your skull if you stand in his way. This album will appeal to both intellectuals and hardcore thugs. It is a must buy.
There were many songs off Peedo & The Luna Empire's album that I was feeling. One of the songs I liked was "For The Money" which gets into how people street hustle in a time of struggle. The song also starts out as a history lesson on how Dominicans came into America. Another song that I enjoyed was "La Ciudad." The piano in the song was banging. KRS-ONE lends his voice on the song and makes a quote saying, "The game don't change, just the players." True indeed.
"I told you" is a great song that has a great bassline playing behind hypnotic flutes - tight! In the song, "Animal," Peedo let's people know that Air Forces Ones ain't nothing new by saying, "Niggas singin' Air Force Ones, we had them shits on in '91!" Another song I was feeling from Peedo & The Luna Empire's album was "Hard Hitta" which has some tight horns playing. "Wild Cowboys" was another great song. That song had an Orchestra feel to it. I felt like Darth Vader was going to come into my house and start causing a ruckus. "Give Me What I Deserve" is probably one of the most true songs of the album. The song talks about how working together can help us all get rich. True Indeed.
"KRS-ONE Presents Peedo & The Luna Empire continues to bring the Kultural Knowledge that KRS-ONE has been spitting for years, while at the same time bringing in a new era of Gansta Rap. Peace & love to Peedo & The Luna Empire for bringing us a great Hiphop CD. and to everyone else, If you didn't buy the CD yet, buy it, put it in your CD player, turn it up full blast and get crunk!
