Lava Lava
Benny Staples and Mike Nielsen were born and raised in New Zealand, but they moved to England in 1984. Staples joined the Woodentops as a drummer, while Nielsen mixed and engineered for Bjork, Simply Red, Naughty by Nature and Underworld. The two teamed up in the mid-'90s to record minimalist techno with club-shaking house beats. Debut EP Mudpool appeared in 1995. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
