Welcome! Exposed to a variety of arts through her mother and a whole family of musicians and artists, Layonne began her professional singing career with a group called Backwoods in 1990. There has since been a number of sessions and performances, including an internationally televised appearance on the Tribute to Heroes Telethon. She has performed with Beth Nielson Chapman, Phoebe Snow, Bruce Springsteen, and Jon Bon Jovi, among others. Currently she covers classic girl group music with The Shirleys, as well as jazz, soul, rock, gospel and a capella with her trio, Rain, which opens the door to original songwriting. When not singing with these guys, Layonne can be found volunteering with the Holiday Express non-profit, which brings music, supplies, financial support and goodwill to those in great need. Recent performances include the New Jersey Rock-n-Soul Revue: The Wall of Sound: Tribute to Phil Spector at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ. Under the musical direction of Bobby Bandiera, they went on a musical journey from The Ronettes to The Righteous Brothers to Tina Turner, with some incredible musicians.
