Li Chin Sung

Modern avant garde composer Li Chin Sung released Past in 1996 as part of the Tzadik label's Composer Series. Known as Dickson Dee when on turntables, Sung remixed Ground Zero's Consume Red in 1997, a project that Gastr Del Sol and Stock, Hausen and Walkman also worked on. Through the '90s, Sung co-owned Hong Kong's Sound Factory (along with Henry Kwok), an independent label that focused on the city's underground music including noise and avant-garde, and organized and promoted area concerts by such musicians as Otomo Yoshihide, John Zorn and Fred Frith. ~ Joslyn Layne, All Music Guide
