L.O.Quent
L.O. Quent, the Lucid Wonder or just L.O. Quent for short, is an up-and-coming producer/artist/poet with a gifted musical mind and a melodic soul. He combines his eclectic tastes from jazz, soul, R&B to dance, house and techno to create an new, innovative sound that is truly unique.Born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, U.S.A. in 1981, L.O. Quent (born Jermeitrik Christian) was raised mostly in Fort Worth, Texas. Even as a child, music would play a factor in his life, (i.e., his involvement in his high school band and choir as well as his church choir.) After finishing high school as an award-winning Texas UIL state soloist in tuba and voice, he enrolled at the prestigious Lake Forest College in suburban Chicago, where he met up with up-and-coming rapper, Knockz (a.k.a. Kevin Reed) and a producer of electronic music called Bloodcherry/DJ Ero (a.k.a. Erica Thomas). They, along with another rapper/guitarist, The M.A.T. (a.k.a. Mark Thompson) collaborated on an album for their African-American Studies Project called "Welcome To The E-Nu-Vurz", which received rave reviews and academic accolades at the Lake Forest College Student Symposium. Through the alias, Nu Balance, he has produced many tracks for mix tapes and raves during his college years in the Chicago area. After graduating with a B.A. in International Relations, he moved back to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where he began to pursue his spoken word poetry and his music full time. By a stroke of luck, he met up with a St. Louis DJ, Jason Sweet, who happened to own Jungle Street Records. He sent him a demo of his house song, "Freedom (For All The Oppressed)" and the rest is history. Today, with his new alias, L.O. Quent continues to work all over the music spectrum from Hip-Hop and R&B to House, Jungle, and Trance. He is currently a choir director/choral teacher, while promoting his music and working with up-and-coming artists in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Memphis, and Chicago area.
