Having been born in Juazeiro (Bahia), Luis Galvão moved to Salvador (Bahia), where he met Moraes Moreira and Paulinho Boca de Cantor, forming with them the group Os Novos Baianos in 1968. Principal lyricist of the group, highly influenced by tropicalia, he wrote most of the group's songs (with Moreira), and participated in the next year in the V Festival de Música Popular Brasileira (Festival of Brazilian Popular Music, TV Record, São Paulo) with "De Vera" (written with Moraes Moreira), interpreted by Os Novos Baianos. In 1997, he published the book Anos 70: Novos e Baianos and succeeded in regrouping the original formation of the Novos Baianos for the recording of the double live CD Infinito Circular. ~ Alvaro Neder, All Music Guide
