Luke Holder

As a child, Luke Holder started playing the piano and the drums before fate stepped in and he took up the guitar. His grandmother was a practitioner for a church, and took an electric guitar instead of pay and gave it to her grandson. Although his intention was to sell it eventually, he began to get passionate about the instrument and eventually brushed up and started a band with his high school friends. The band broke up but Holder moved on to punk rockers Brother's Grim before he was back out on his own making solo music. The next step was moving on to indie pop, starting with Playing for an Audience of Candles at the beginning of 2000. Penumbra was released only half a year later, but then it was time for touring and some rest until he stepped back into the studio. In 2002, This Was a Giant came out. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide
