Ma Ja Le

Ma Ja Le consists of guitarist/flutist Christopher Short and percussionist/vocalist Paul Vnuk. They released their first disc, Dreams in the Orchards of Saturn, in 1995 and curiously culled all the material from the first four live shows they ever put on. After three years, they teamed up with Vir Unis to make Imaginarium, followed the next year by the limited edition Oscillations. In 2000 they teamed with minimalist composer James Johnson for a series of concerts and another limited-edition disc, Live Under a Harvest Moon. The next year they teamed with Johnson for the uncharacteristically erotic Seed, which was the first widely released album they had made since 1998. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide
