tasseo's Artist Review for Maceo Parker

Blow your horn, Maceo
Undoubtedly one of the best known sax players in the history of funk, predominantly through his work with James Brown ("Blow your horn, Maceo!"), Maceo Parker has had a spotty recorded solo career.
For anyone who isn't familiar with it Maceo, I'll advice you to listen to the song "Tell me something good" on the album "Funk Overload" (1998). It's a song originally wroten by Stevie Wonder for Chaka Kahn. It's funk, Maceo's voice is warm and perfectly match, the huge creew on background vocals recalls George Clinton live!
But to discover Maceo, you'll have to see him live! It shouldn't be so difficult as the master plays 300 gigs a year, (especially in Europe and America).
