Malachi Perez
Ten years before releasing his debut album, Seattle's Malachi Perez was a 16-year-old touring the Northwest in support of his single "Hip-Hop to You." He eventually sold one thousand copies but then spent the next four years performing and perfecting his skills without recording. A short stint as one-half of Ironclad followed, but Perez soon split from the group, hoping to find solo success. The rapper was back in the studio in November of 2002, recording his self-titled EP. Perez supported the EP with a four-month, 25-state tour with Pigeon John and Red Cloud. Perez's full-length debut, Stereo Phenomenon, hit the streets in early 2004. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
