Martin 101
Taking the latter half of his name from the Roland synth module which he has used as his main tool over the years, Viennese-born Martin 101 has forged a reputation across many different forms of underground media, not only as a party promoter and social commentator but also musician, video director and face on the hedonistic European party scene. 'Dangerous Cat', his latest offering through the Thirteen Rec imprint, takes its cues from the sparse, dark productions of Timbaland and adds the kind of self-aware, deadpan vocal performance so beloved by Marc Almond and Gary Numan. It's camp, debonair electro-pop at its finest; the sound of a dark alleyway staffed entirely by razor-cheekboned Studio 54 throwbacks.
