Maxene Andrews
Maxene Andrews was the second of the three singing Andrews Sisters from Minneapolis, MN, who were one of the most successful pop acts of the 1940s. The trio split up and reunited several times from the 1950s on, and eldest sister Laverne died in 1967. Maxene and Patty Andrews starred in a Broadway musical, Over Here, in 1974. Since then, Maxene Andrews has pursued a solo career, which included a debut album, Maxene: An Andrews Sister, in 1985. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
