Michael DiBella
Michael F. Di Bella, word merchant for hire, musicologist, aspiring alchemist and co-founder of The C.A.W.L.M. Project(Collaborative Artists
With Like Minds), has followed many musical paths. Michael got his start in music journalism with the Detroit-based music magazine, "Underground
Soundz," interviewing artists such as the Fugees and the Pharcyde.
University of Michigan graduate and former Shoe City Employee, Michael is a crusader for the development of a 5"9 and under NBA league. Michael is a
true journeyman of the Gerald Henderson variety, plying his craft in Michigan, Hartford, The Bay Area, Chicago, Boston and Washington D.C. In
the musical galaxy, Michael entered the solar system near Pluto and arrived at the Jupiter world of hip-hop at a young age but now explores all musical
planets on his voyage to the Sun. Michael's musical interests were enriched by DJ'ing at the University of Michigan's radio station, WCBN. As a
relative newcomer to radio, Michael quickly proved adept and went on to co-host a late night show that featured weekly performances from The Del Rio
Six, J-Smalls and The Inimitable D-AB. Major musical influences include KRS-ONE, Jimi Hendrix, Slick Rick, Q-Tip, Bob Marley, John Coltrane and
Frank Sinatra.
When not at home spinning vinyl discs loudly and with his windows open for anyone who will listen, Michael is at work attempting to perfect a variety
of delectable sandwiches in order to one day own a record store/sandwich shop. Ultimately, Michael aspires to blend his music and writing interests in the hopes of eventually being able to write insrtuction manuals for Sony Walkmans and Technics Turntables. ~ Michael Di Bella
