Mick Hart

Singer/songwriter Mick Hart has managed to earn a good deal of attention since his arrival with the 1998 EP Release. Earning comparisons to artists like Ben Harper and Jeff Buckley, Release generated a radio hit in Hart's native Australia with the track "Nothing Is Real." Another EP, Kill Yourself For Love," followed in 1999, before Hart finally issued his full-length debut with Still The Flowers Bloom in 2001. The album was the recipient of enthusiastic praise from critics and managed to connect with listeners through the radio hits "Blinded" and "This Is Not The Way." Touring internationally, Hart supported major acts including Gomez and Coldplay in the UK, while at home, he provided support for Bob Dylan on an Australian tour. 2002 saw the release of the similarly well-received Upside Down In The Full Face Of Optimism and a spot opening for Sting on that act's Australian tour. ~ Tom Demalon, All Music Guide
