Naushad is playing guitar since 1985. Entirely self taught. 1988 is when he began to learn techniques of classical guitar from books. The guitar he had at that time was a steel string acoustic guitar and not suitable for finger style playing. He was able to manage his first classical guitar in 1991. It was a guitar made in Japan of a brand named 'Suzuki'. It was really a very low end classical guitar but to him at that time it was more than a gem. Naushad was never without a classical guitar since then. He owns 3 guitars now one of them is a flamenco guitar. Naushad is a big fan of flamenco guitar. Paco De Lucia is his most favorite guitarist. No other guitarist could convince him more in terms of skills, passion, and extremely rich and complex guitar music so far. Naushad plays a little flamenco as well.
