Nikos Ksidhakis and Nikos Papazoglou
Gypsy music was brought into the musical limelight in 1978, when Ksidhakis and Papazoglou released their homage to the gypsy style, Ih Ekdhikisi tis Yiftias (The Revenge of Gypsydom), featuring Dhionisios Savvopoulous. In 1979, they followed up with Ta Dithen, which mined Greece's rich musical folk culture for sounds to complement their gypsy convictions. During the early '80s, Ksidhakis was relatively quiet, although he did collaborate with the ringing vocalist Glykeria, but in 1987 he burst back onto the musical scene with Konda ti Dhoxa mia Stigmi. ~ Leon Jackson, All Music Guide
