Nosequien

The Peruvian rock quintet Nosequién y los Nosecuantos made their debut in the Latin American music scene with the release of No Somos Nada, featuring their first hit, "Magdalena." Formed by singer Raúl Romero aka La Romeracha, guitarist Héctor Llosa aka El Rector, bassist Fernando Rios aka El Cholo, keyboardist Pablo Boner aka La Pabla, and drummer Pedro Silva aka El Ingeniero, the band focused their lyrics on local social issues while their music mixed different Latin rhythms: pop-rap, reggae-pop, and rock & roll. 1991's Con el Respeto Que Se Merecen featured their first chart-topping single called "Las Torres." Once Porotazos Superbailables and Walter followed in 1993 and 1995, respectively. In 1996 Nosequién y los Nosecuantos went into a temporary breakup, returning in 1999 to promote Amorfo. That same year, the rock en Español outfit debuted live in the U.S. while playing at Miami's Key Biscayne. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
