ohm tribe
Alternative reggae band Ohm Tribe was created from the thought that we are one human tribe on this earth that can be united with consciousness spread through music. Drawing from influences as vast as roots reggae, ska and dub mixed with indie rock, grunge, hip-hop, and tribal beats, Ohm Tribe music reflects the dunes at the beach, Mary Jane on a powder day, the break in the eye, and the space between thought. This blend brings an atmosphere of island style surf dub in the midst of the extreme high country Rocky Mountain scene. The conscious hip-hop lyrics, the dual guitar onslaught, and the groove droppin’ drum’n’bass has been drawing in everyone with packed shows throughout Colorado. They are in the process of recording their first LP Planetary Natives scheduled for release in the winter of 2008. Studio recordings have been licensed in extreme sports documentaries from urban wakeboarding to tow-in surfing that have been aired on PBS, Fuel TV and at the Sundance Film Fest (www.youtube.com/gaiablue).
