On the Speakers

When his old band Creeper Lagoon fell apart, singer/guitarist Ian Sefchick was disappointed and shaken enough to move from the band's hometown of San Francisco and head to southern California. Sefchick was spending a lot of restless time on the couch before a chance meeting with guitarist Scott Ford got him excited about starting a band again. Soon bassist Dan Horne and drummer Anthony Improgo were on board and the four members -- along with a tabby cat named Mouski -- all moved into a house in Los Angeles. When they were ready, they packed the communal car and headed to San Francisco's Tiny Telephone studios in the summer of 2003. Although 11 songs were recorded, the band ended up with only enough money to mix and finish six of them. The six songs formed the band's self-titled EP released by San Francisco's 17 Reasons label in late 2003. Major label Universal caught wind of the buzz around the energetic band and re-released the EP in spring of 2004. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
