Opie
Replicating the immortal fun of old transistor radio classics, and saturating the sound in contemporary fuzz, Opie captures the excitement of Rock n' Roll and cooks it into something they can call their own. The creation is a hybrid rock that will motivate listeners to snap their fingers, do the twist, and bang their heads all at the same time. In both their recorded tracks and live shows, Opie strives to create an atmosphere of inclusion and community ownership. The band steps out from the typical arrogant and ostentatious persona of the modern rock band and seeks connection, humility, and simplistic charm. Born in the high mountains and settling in the fertile valley, Opie is both foreign and familiar. In 2005, Opie’s single, “Death of Adventure,” accomplished notable success in the UK, spending 3 straight weeks as the number one MP3 on the unsigned artist charts.
