Orquesta del Desierto
On paper it's a dream stoner rock lineup, but in practice Orquesta del Desierto is really the alternative rock side project of several stoner rock practitioners. Featuring Alfredo Hernandez of Kyuss and Queens of the Stone Age, Pete Stahl of Wool, and Mario Lalli of Fatso Jetson, their 2002 eponymous debut owes a big debt to Latin rock and psychedelic pop and avoids the heavy guitars that are often associated with their other projects. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide
