Ozzy: My Metal God
Ozzy has been one of the greatest musicians in all of history. Along with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, the 4 kids from Birmingham made my favorite band ever Black Sabbath and became the fathers of the music style we know as metal. During their 9 year stretch of amazing and influential music, they had also experimented with massive amounts of drugs and alchohal. In '78 the band members finally had enough and resorted to firing Ozzy. Post Never Say Die Ozzy locked himself in a hotel room for six months eating pizza and snorting cocaine which destroyed his voice and is y he sounds so different from Never Say Die to Blizard of Ozz. After Sharon Arden (his manager and future wife) recuperated him (to the best a human being can) pushed him to make a solo band. After hiring Lee Kerslake on drums and Bob Daisley on bass, Ozzy needed to find a guitar player as good as Tony Iommi which wont be an easy task. But amazingly he found better, right out of the crappy hair metal band Quiet Riot, Randy Rhoads. Randy Rhoads used a much more classical route for playing than the bluesy Tony Iommi. Together they made Ozzy Osbourne! This would be different for Ozzy, because of the different enviorment, all the "hip-youngsters" and lets just say Tony wasnt the nicest person to Ozzy unlike Randy Rhoads who listened to Ozzy's before he had pubic hair. now that im done with the history lesson of Ozzy lets get to the review. I Dont Know was a great intro to start out the album, not that its completly influencial or anything, it just starts out nice and goes into the deep stuff. Next comes the amazing song Crazy Train. Im not the biggest fan of Randy's style of riffs but this one is pretty awsome. and this also one of the few sogs where i feel that Randy's (awsome) solo fits with the song really well. thats another reason why I like Tony Iommi a little more than Randy. With Randy Im kindve waiting for the awsome solo while with Tony Im enjoying the awsome riff. Next is Goodbye to Romance which I think everyone skips because its so slow and sappy. Then Dee, i think its sweet that Randy wrote a song for his mom and all but im thinking this a intro of somekind to the next song but it has no segway to Suicide Solution. next as i said is Suicide Solution which is about Bon Scott's death due to alchahol. I hate AC/DC but this song is awsome, another rare great riff by Randy. next is my favorite song Mr. Crowley MY Favorite Song. the lyrics great (not completly accurate but close enough), the riff great, the bass great, the drums great, the solos AMAZING, the whole song is awsome. No Bone Movies, not much to say its okay. Revelation, in my opinion this is a great song, little breaks like this are good for me, but most people i know dont like it. Steal Away, again not much to say its okay. despit my compaints this is still a great ablum pick it up ASAP
