The Australian '60s group Peter & the Silhouettes contributed a couple of songs to the mid-'60s compilation The Scene in Northern Victoria that showed them to be a reasonably strong garage band. The better of the pair, "Claudette Jones," was pretty fair garage pop, while the more subdued "The Natural Man" was more like the organ-grounded blues-pop that the Animals and Them did in their early days. In 1966, they altered their personnel and changed their name to the Tol-Puddle Martyrs, who issued a couple of respectable singles later in the '60s in a more sophisticated style, showing the influence of psychedelia and the Kinks. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
