phluidbox was formed in 1998 in orlando, originally dubbed THE FLUID BOX, and consisted of a couple cassette tapes and crude artwork. artist joseph fitzpatrick conceived phluidbox while attending the university of central florida and studying psychology and religion, which became a source of inspiration for many of the concepts implied in the music. fitzpatrick spent his college hours in his off campus hotel room stitching beats and exploring the newly discovered realm of computer music and binary lifestyle. within a couple years, phluidbox was received by the IDM community, sporting a pair of eps for the barcelona-based spa.RK releases (THESE FOUND HABITS ep and ALTER 12'') and a handful of compilation appearances on fatcat records (UK), component records (USA), carpark records (USA), nophi recordings (USA). a less known, but still noteworthy release, is THE MUSE AND THE PRODUCT, which was released as an mp3 ep on www.stasisfield.com (USA). reviews and samples of these releases can be found on the world wide web.
