Is it better than "Doolittle"?
Yes, it is. Surfer Rosa is not only the best Pixies album but it is also the best album of the 80's. Definitely not for everyone (especially those who do not like frantic and poet songs that contain some screaming and howling) but still a brilliant listen. It is challenging and even at times unforgiving but trust me if there is one Pixies album you should own it's this. Definitely cutting edge stuff!

The Pixies were the most influential of the so-called "college rock" bands of the 1980s. So why do people think that Black Francis and company only influenced grunge?
