plastic shapes
Plastic Shapes was formed in 2006 when Marc Czygan (lead guitar/vocals) Nick Karpinsky (bass/vocals), Kai Wang (synth/keyboard/vocals) and Joe Karpinsky (drums) set out to create an original, ultra-catchy, and dance-friendly meshing of electronic and rock music. Plastic Shapes has played numerous venues in the Detroit area, ranging from large concert halls like The Majestic Theater to cozy nightclubs like the legendary Jacoby's in Greektown. Their live show is an electrified explosion of dance-friendly beats, hopping synthesizers and wailing guitars that permeate the clouds of fog and beams of strobes and lasers. The band is eager to deliver this full production whenever and wherever they perform and their growing fan-base is a testament to this doctrine. The band strives to put elbow grease into all aspects of their band, including promotion. Flyers and full color posters are made for EVERY show (including the smaller gigs) and distributed all throughout the geographical area of interest. Promotion on the internet is equally extensive, especially on Myspace and Facebook. All people in the band's musical demographic are fair game to this approach. This is your invitation to experience the dark, euphoric and varied sounds of Detroit's own electro-rock band Plastic Shapes. Come and FEEL the music!
