Porcelain Gunfight

Emerging from Orange County, Porcelain Gunfight personifies the musical heart and soul that encompasses Southern California. Porcelain Gunfight was formed in 2000 and is now what seems to be, one of the few true rock and roll bands in Orange County. With influences such as Pearl Jam, Oasis, STP, and Travis, PG truly has a timeless sound. No trends, no gimmicks, just honest music. The four have recently completed a 12 track recording entitled “Criminal’s Hymnal” recorded at Revolver Studios and produced by Mikal Blue and Peter Distefano (formerly of Porno for Pyros). This record demonstrates a bold combination of old school rock and roll along with lyrically sound balladry. While attending New Mexico State University in 1999, Max Swanton (vocals/guitar) began his musical journey forming the band Luge in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Max, a native of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, quickly discovered his ability as a singer and as a songwriter. Max found himself determinedly performing in the desolate small town and soon crossed paths with Vic Hernandez, a melodic guitarist from Orange County, CA. Tired from the redundant small town mentality, Max and Vic continued songwriting and took their collaborations to the open mic circuit in Hollywood. Seeking a true rock and roll sound, Max and Vic combined their sound with a young ambitious drummer named Chris Fox. The three would eventually form the band Goosh and record an 8 song album entitled “The Demonstration”. Chris’s powerful drum beats would soon be in high demand and another project would overshadow Goosh putting the project on hold. Max and Vic would then begin work on Porcelain Gunfight. After a couple of years of dead ends and many musicians, Chris would ultimately become a necessary attribute to PG. Chris’s history include projects such as, Havoc, Supercreep and a 2 year tour as Ashlee Simpson’s drummer. Once returning from touring with Ashlee in 2006, Chris was eager to get Porcelain Gunfight off the ground. He would join Max and Vic once again and introduce a band mate and friend from a past project named Adam Ribota. Born into a musically gifted family combined with his love for old school rock and roll, Adam was determined and destined to incorporate the power of his bass guitar through the songs of Porcelain Gunfight. As these four members grow as individuals and as a unit, PG continues to evolve and cultivate their sound. Together, Porcelain Gunfight is a positive interpretation of the often dismal alternative rock genre.
