RooCH_ToTB's Album Review for Songs for the Deaf

The return, and the demise
Here's my problem. I am a man of the past. Not in a literal sense, lord knows I am only 20, but the bands of the past are most certainly more appealing to me. But with Queens of the Stone Age, I cannot help yearning for the past. You see, what many people don't know is Qotsa, is a remake. They were originally called Kyuss, and had a singer named Brant Byork. Now, Brant has gone on to a succesful underground solo career, but the rest of the band carried on regardless, and created this. Now, their first album, was great. Original, well written and performed. But they are sadly lacking in this effort due to Josh Hommes insistence on multiple projects. He isn't really commiting himself and it comes across, you can hear his other projects coming through in Qotsa and it doesn't aid his playing one bit. I loved the self titled album, the second was enjoyable, but Songs for the deaf. Dissapointing, and highly overrated.
