Razor Skyline

Modeled by Karen Kardell (vocals) and the_Gun (keyboards, programming), the Razor Skyline initiated its movements in 1995, underscoring their patterned methods through profound and dense compositions. Motivated by the work of '80s bands such as the Cure or Siouxie & the Banshees, and going beyond an inspired renaissance of gothic rock, Skyline's creations involved electronic inflections and glowing metal inspirations. It was in late 1995 that the two-team recorded their first demo, and by the end of that year, they signed their first recording deal with COP International. Journal of Trauma, their debut album, hit the record stores in 1996, enjoying a massive success and simultaneously empowering the band's sound drawing. Deciding to uphold their record on an extensive tour throughout the West Coast, the duo was then joined by a supporting crew, sustaining Skyline's themes live on stage. Shortly after the tour's ending, Kardell left due to several issuing conflicts, and not long after, vocalist Charlotte Shai filled in the missing spot. In 1998, the former head singer joined in again, determining Shai's departure, and preceding the recording of the band's second album, 1999's Fade and Sustain. During the following months, drummer Onyx joined in as a permanent element of the band, that way transmuting Skyline to a trio. The Bitter Well, the group's third full-length, surfaced in 2001. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, All Music Guide
