Reverend Jim Howie

Reverend Howie is one of our national treasures, in the mode of Bradley Kincaid. Reverend Howie is a pastor in the United Presbyterian Church. His mother's family were members of The Scottish Covenanters, whose music was a part of the earliest music in America. His father was a southern baptist. Everyone in his family sang the old religious songs and secular ballads. Reverend Howie learned these songs from his parents, grandparents and other family members. It is estimated that Reverend Howie knows over a thousand of these songs. To hear him sing them while strumming his autoharp is a blessing and an inspiration. ~ Don Stevens, All Music Guide
