Rustie Blue
Singer/songwriter Rustie Blue began her love affair with country music at the age of eight, singing in numerous county fairs around her native southeastern Ohio. Genetically predestined to the genre -- she's related to Merle Travis through her grandmother Lila Jane Travis -- Blue released her debut record (That Oughta Do It) in 2001. The album won her a small but devoted following and opened her up to the mainstream, specifically Europe, as her second release, the bluesy Enter at Your Own Risk, charted overseas. Blue spent 2002 and 2003 a long way from her rural upbringing, touring Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Holland, and Australia. Her latest, Chip Chip, featuring a duet with legendary singer Whisperin' Bill Anderson, was released in 2005. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
