Safety Word Orange
Safety Word Orange first came into existence early September 2007 when two Virginia natives, James Mason and Robbie Rusbuldt met each other in Los Angeles, California. After the two songwriters rehearsed, with Mason on acoustic guitar and vocals and Rusbuldt on the bass, they called upon another Virginian, Brennan Rhodes to bang on the drums. After playing two shows as just a 3-piece band, they added LA's very own Daniel Sahagun on lead guitar to finalize the line up. SWO spent over three months writing and rehearsing in Hollywood perfecting their ideal set list. Having two writers allowed Safety Word Orange to consistently add new songs with influences raging from 90s rock, to punk and even reggae to acoustic. The different musical backgrounds and influences gave them a chance to really explore before deciding what came naturally and best fit their sound. After choosing their six strongest tracks SWO went to the studio to record their first "Self-Titled" EP. They met Joe Feris of Adema at TAO Studios in Beverly Hills, CA who agreed to record, mix and produce their first album. Sticking to a very strong DIY style, the self-funded EP will be released independently on June 4, 2008
