Composer Samson Young was born in Hong Kong and spent his formative years in Sydney Australia. With professional interests also in poetry, Samson Young's music is concerned with concision and boldness of poetic expression, which often results in the exploration of miniature forms. Samson Young's music have received performances, among others, from Bang on a Can and fellows at the summer institute, City Chamber Orchestra, Coruscations Ensemble, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Network for New Music, New Millennium Ensemble, Sydney Song Company and TACTUS. Currently he is pursuing a Ph.D degree in composition and musicology at Princeton University. He maintains his own website at www.samsonyoung.com.
