Scott Bultman
Scott Bultman was the associate editor of the All Music Guide from 1991-1993. He began his musical career in high school, playing guitar in a band with classmates, at the birth of MTV and the music-video generation. He attended the University of Michigan, taking art, music, and film classes. He took an extended leave in New Zealand and Australia, seeking the roots of the great Aussie rock sound of bands like Midnight Oil, Australian Crawl, Split Enz, and others. Back at the University of Michigan, he pursued both a film/video degree and a music degree specializing in electronic music composition. Scott played in the University's Javanese gamelan ensemble for two years and gained music industry experience working in a record store and for a local concert promoter. After graduation, Scott built a MIDI-based electronic music studio and wrote and distributed MIDI software for Atari computers. He pursues an interest in MIDI recording and software and published the Electronic Alliance newsletter to support local electronic musicians.
