Shannon.hu tells energetic stories of dwarfs and giants, bumpkins and drunken maidens, unbridled mirth and distraction. The music derives from Celtic, Hungarian and various European traditions. The usual solo instruments (accordion, bouzouki, flute) are accompanied by dynamic popular beats from the rhythm section. In the compositions, influences of classical as well as Balkan folk music are easily distinguished, thus rendering the outcome a clear example of - to use modern terminology - what is referred to as 'world music'.
