the album i was hoping for
I haven't even finished listening to this, but I can already tell that this is the album I've been waiting for Sigur Ros to make since I first heard them back at All Tomorrow's Parties 2001 (I think). When Stuart from Mogwai wrote them off as a "coffee table band for yuppies" or something like that, their allure for me had already started to fade, but I'm going to have to run out and buy and/or download this one for sure. I bet it'll sound great real-time mixed for 5.1 by my stereo at home... thinking Dolby Pro Logic II oughtta do the trick.
