Sister 7
Austin, Texas-based Sister 7 comprised vocalist Patrice Pike, guitarist Wayne Sutton, bassist Darrell Phillips and drummer Sean Phillips (no relation). Formed out of an impromptu 1991 jam session, the group -- originally dubbed Little Sister -- debuted on the SBK/EMI label in 1994 with a live EP, Free Love and Nickel Beer, spotlighting their fusion of hard rock, funk and hip-hop; a spot on the H.O.R.D.E. tour and the self-financed Little Sister/Sister 7, recorded for Rhythmic Records, followed in 1994. After signing to the Arista Austin label, Sister 7 resurfaced in 1997 with This the Trip; Wrestling Over Tiny Matters followed in the spring of 2000. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
