Overall, a great album.

This album is much like most other Sonic Youth albums: layers upon layers of guitars. Of course, Sonic Youth has always done such exceptional things with this format, and Rather Ripped is no different.

Sometimes soft and melodic, sometimes hard and chugging, and sometimes dissonant, the guitars craft a series of electric soundscapes. Many of these songs feature extended jams, something that Sonic Youth has also been exceptional with.

The lyrics are interesting and the vocal tracks fit well within the songs, sometimes acting as another layer.

Overall, a great album.
