Stories to Tell
At the end of 2003 the band Stories to Tell was formed by Fabrice (acoustic guitar) and Rësch (acoustic guitar & vocals). Although it began as a just for fun band, composing their lyrics and sounds under the influence of “I’m havin’ enough of all this….” attitude, very soon, they were joined by Gianni on the bass and Rino on the drums to complete the band. Musically Stories to Tell try to make simple melancholic melodic songs with nice melodies. They were one of the surprises during the last Emergenza newcomer contest where they reached the finals and won the price of media 2005 sponsored by a local journal called Tageblatt. In November 2005 Stories to Tell recorded their first EP at “die Mühle der Freudschaft” in Bad Iburg, Germany, produced by Marcus Praed who is well known for his work with Ezio and Tito & Tarantula. The six chosen songs of the album are mainly about love, disappointment and hope. They are not only telling tiny stories about moments of daily life (Traffic, An ordinary day), but they also write about very personal and moving situations everybody knows and has already gone through (Fine again, Does anyone know the way?). Musically the four Storytellers don’t necessary try to reinvent music, but you will notice that they put in every note that is played, every chord that is strummed and every rhyme that is sung, all of their passion and love. The songs are mainly arranged with acoustic guitars, but sometimes the more rocky songs are pushed by an electric guitar except “Light up my nights” which is a beautiful ballad recorded with one piano and vocals only. Everyone can hear this record, it does not matter if young or old; it’s just beautiful and honest songwriting.
