ZeeDeevel's Album Review for 40 Oz. to Freedom

40oz. To Freedom
Sometimes albums give a reviewer more than enough pieces to critique; sometimes the entire album plays out in such a manner. With Sublime's debut effort, "40oz. To Freedom", it seems harder to point out the key elements of the brilliance laid before you in the form of 20 tracks (plus 2 hidden). The disc is just a masterpiece, at most times maintaining an entire album flow, reminiscent of the days of Pink Floyd. The bands design of as much musical influence as possible on a track, although differing in styles, all screams 'Sublime', and despite its age, this is arguably the finest effort put forth by the band. The success of the album stayed towards the underground, where a multitude of talent is waiting to be heard. Songs like the title-track, 'Smoke Two Joints', 'Badfish', 'Scarlet Begonias' 'D.J.s' 'New Song' Ebin' - the list is far too many to rhyme off here - could all easily be hits, if the radio ventured farther than the realms of the familiar.
