Ted Mills
Ted Mills is a freelance writer and critic as well as a filmmaker (so he likes to put his money where his mouth is). From 1994 to 1996 he lived, taught, and wrote in Tsuchiura, Japan, where he fully developed his obsession for Japanese indie music, particularly the movement that became known as Shibuya-kei, though he had been listening to Japanese rock since 1990. Currently he writes for the Santa Barbara Independent and online at Digital City among others. His music collection numbers in the thousands, and by now he has completely lost track. One day the voluminous accumulation of discs and cassettes will either bury him or bankrupt him. He still likes vinyl, thinks that MP3s are way overrated, and is warming up to MiniDisc. ~ Ted Mills
