lowly0's Artist Review for The Choir
""
Grammy nominated in 2002 for Best Gospel/Rock album, the Choir is still producing, after 25 years, some of the most artistic and down to earth music there is. Their music runs the gambit from rock to folk, from hymns to country, even some punk and jazz. B
"The Choir" started as "Youth Choir" in the early 80's. Their music is not like other CCM artists. They sing more about life, family, and having fun. These boys come up with some of the most interesting and beautiful music, sometimes with the most unusual sounds and instruments. Their is a toy duck quacking in two songs. Feedback is used as an instrament as well. One song "Yellow Skies" has and earlier song "Like a Cloud" interwoven into it. These men are absolutely amazing artists. Three of the band members are also involved with the folk/roots music band "The Lost Dogs".
