Formed in 1993 and maintaining a core of three members throughout numerous personnel changes, the Cooters (who liked their name so much they claimed the trademark to it, as well as the name "Cooter") issued their self-titled 7" debut in 1994 on the Oxford, MS-based Zombie Birdhouse label. They followed up with 1995's Invasion of the Cooters and 1998's The Moon Will Rise Again, all of which featured the journey from punk to metal and back again taken by bandmembers Raw Cooter, who contributes guitar and vocals, Neuter Cooter on bass and vocals, and Judas Cooter on drums. ~ Stacia Proefrock, All Music Guide
